Ägerikrippe Day Care Nursery is located above the fog line and at the heart of the village of Oberägeri. Our expansive premises with two balconies, group spaces, purpose-driven rooms and a spacious garden/yard perfectly round off our location. There is ample forest in the nursery’s vicinity, the lake, plenty of nature, all allowing us to go on weekly forest outings, be physically active, pay visits to local farms and to the library, go for strolls, do gardening projects, and also find time for seasonal activities that round off our outdoor program.

In the nursery, children are mostly cared for in mixed-age groups of 12 children. Structures are lived in the groups and the daily routine is designed according to the needs of the children.
The educators have completed training in the field of childcare.
Every child determines the length of his or her own settling-in period.
Following the Berlin settling-in method, which we employ at our day care nursery, we start off with an entry meeting.
The purpose of the settling-in period ist to establish a stable relationship between your child and his or her personal carer. The sense of security made possible by a trustful relationship with the child carer is the foundation on which successful educational processes are built, and a healthy start for your child at our nursery.
We are open from 7 a.m to 6:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
• We give the children the opportunity to discover the world following their own path.
• Each child is given the same chances and the possibility to develop in a healthy way.
• The children’s needs are the focus of our attention. We give the kids ample time and room to experience and realize them.
• The kids can really develop their self-esteem.
• All children can experience respect and appreciation.
• Our secure setting allows the kids to explore, sense and ultimately overcome their own boundaries.
• The kids are supported and encouraged in their independence.
• The kids are supported in developing their social and technical skills as well as their self-competence and autonomy.
Ägerikrippe highlights
Physical activity, nature, adventures and positive emotions are the cornerstones of our work.
Between three and four parent-child events will give you an extended insight into our day-to-day life at the nursery.
We build on our staff’s personal and technical skills as well as on continuous training – these are among our core values.
Cooperating with the community of Oberägeri in a trustful, open and transparent manner is what rounds off our set of values.
Our five meals of each day, which we prepare ourselves, are seasonal, healthy, child-appropriate, rich in vitamins and varied.
Breakfast, lunch and Zvieri (afternoon snack) are complemented by a Znüni (morning snack) consisting of fruit as well as by a late-afternoon round of fruit.
At the table we encourage talk and a sense of community.
Your child may attend our nursery between one and five full days per week. Alternatively, we also offer half-day care for your child on two halfdays.
We do not close for holidays, however we are closed for a few days over Christmas and New Year.
We do close for bank holidays. Please find an overview of when the nursery is closed here:
In each of our two large-family groups we take care of a maximum of 10 children of between three months and 10 years of age. The age mix allows the kids to grow up together, to learn social skills in the company of both younger and older kids and to be part of a group.
It is basically the parents’ responsibility to obtain sufficient health, accident and liability insurance. For events and accidents that the care facility may be held liable for, the day care nursery has obtained extensive liability insurance.
Yes, of course. Our day care manager will be happy to give you more information.
In order to protect the other children, sick children cannot be taken care of in the nursery.
The rates at the Nursery are the same for every month, independent of the number of days the particular month has. Absences caused by illness, bank holidays or vacation are taken into account in the all-inclusive price.
